About my background
Having grown up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, I could not wait
to get out of the cold and into the warmth. So its not a
coincidence that I turned my love of warmth into an art.
Working with the kiln and different mediums such as clay
and glass has been a great past time of mine for years and
now have turned my love and warmth into wearable art
pieces and decorative bowls.
I am lucky enough to live within earshot of the Gulf of
Mexico on a barrier island just outside of Corpus Christi,
Texas in a little town call Port Aransas. I don't know what it
was in my past life I did, but I am glad I did it! This is a
quaint little village filled with fishermen and women, artists,
colorful people, and lots of inspiration!
Having grown up and been around water all my life, I have
taken and received inspiration from everything in my past as
well as around me. My love of sailing, and all things water,
especially dolphins, and the color blue is used heavily in my
work. The wind, environment and excitement I put into
every design, pendant, and bowl I make is not 1/2 the
excitement that comes when firing, or the final cool down
and wait, whether glass or ceramic.
Having the beach 1/4 mile also makes it easy to get through
the wait. Well worth it! And a great place to find supplies
for my next piece!
